Alphabet of Greenwich (O)

So today we reach ‘O’ in the Alphabet. Normally a quite hard letter, but there seems to be plenty of O’s around here.

So today things shouldn’t be too hard

    Orinoco – the only Greenwich built barge still sailing

    Ordnance Wharf – Blakeley gun factory and then the gas works tar factory

    Ordnance Draw Dock – 1880s Planning gain – now being eyed up by developers

    Old Court – the Manor of East Greenwich

    Opium – the trade that many of those fancy sailing clippers were engaged in, and which provided the funding for the Blakeley gun foundry (above)
