St Alfege Millenium Premiere

I’ve just seen a sneak preview of the film that about the martyrdom of St Alfege and the commemorations that took place a couple of months ago, and I found it utterly fascinating (had to look away from the main guy because I found myself fascinated by the various ‘presenterly’ tics rather than concentrating on what he was actually saying but when I did listen it was all good stuff…) It’s a neat film, full of Greenwich-ness and timeliness, and it kept me interested right to the end. I’d have liked more about the history of the church and building, but hey, this is good – that can be in St Alfege Two…

There’s a premiere screening of it on Sunday 16th September, “cinema style with popcorn and drinks,” held in the  hall opposite the church at 11.15am (after the morning service which starts at 10.00am if you want the full experience).

The film will be available on DVD afterwards if you can’t make it…
