The sign is still alive and kicking on Google Street view. It’s quite amazing how aged some of these signs can appear – I was looking at the frontage of the Plumbing and Heating Supplies shop in Trafalgar Road on Street View. This shop was a funeral parlour in the 1960′s, with a respectable bland black frontage, and Carem Limited was formed in 1983, but the wall signs above the shop look a lot older than that to me.

It was yesterday that I noticed it had been painted over, as well, on my way to the riverside.
Then there was the ghost sign for a coal merchant’s. that was on the wall on the corner of Norway St. First painted over, and now gone completely.
