Some More Pics of Cutty Sark Christmas Tree Raising.

Folks – a couple more pics from yesterday’s raising of the tree. Several of Robert’s pictures are similar to those in the other post, so here, I’m focussing on people:

First of all I’d like to introduce you to Jim Dines, who’s heading up the team from TS Rigging, who’ll be masting and rigging over the next few months, with some of the guys.

Here’s one of the lads (I’m sure they’ll tell me exactly who) doing the deed in strong winds yesterday

And of course, we need no introduction to the fellow below:

Catch Robert Gray’s latest Full English Breakfast Show, where he interviews that Grande Dame of Greenwich Theatre, Widow O’Twankey, here

You know what? For the first time since the beginning of the Cutty Sark restoration, I’ve started to feel that Greenwich has a part in it. Up ’til now, everything’s been behind closed doors, and we’ve been the last to know any news at all from the Trust. But Jim and his team have started to make ordinary Greenwich citizens welcome – I shall look forward to their being around over the next few months.

I am pleased to tag ┬áthis not just under ‘Greenwich Christmas’ and ‘News’, but under ‘Greenwich People’ too. Jim & Co – you are one of us, now.
