Tidy Job

May I present an excellent job well done? Whereas a couple of weeks ago we had a tennis player:

now we have an immaculate cover-up;  so much better than the nasty grafitti, I’m sure you’ll agree.  In fact it’s impossible to tell that there was ever anything there at all.

Actually I’m just dying for someone to turn this into a secret door into another world.

An excellent job indeed, you can hardly see where that terrible, ugly and offensive bit of graffiti was.

    Really what is the point………pathetic.

Greenwich Council – dontcha luv ‘em? *

    * no

  3. Steve says:

My God, there are some truly stupid people around. How is that better?

What if I painted an identical blue rectangle next to it, would that be vandalism?

  4. Alex Brooks says:

Paint “Police Box” on it and I think we might have something.

  5. Of course – it’s just asking to be turned into a TARDIS. Brilliant. Which of course would tie in with my suggestion of making it a door into another world…

    A Mark Rothko Tardis..?

  7. PiratesPatch says:

    Did they sign it….

    They are the council Banksy!

  8. Steve says:

Can someone…anyone…tell me why people are assuming the Council did this?

The council remove tons of graffiti across the borough each year and I’ve never seen them use blue paint to do that – have you?

Perhaps, just perhaps, someone objected to the graffiti and did it themselves…

  9. Steve says:

Yep, another vote for Tardis. Outstanding suggestion, Alex.

I quite like the fact that someone was trying out a bit of Banksy-esque stencil art in Greenwich. It is hugely preferable to tagging which is likely to be what we get next when some bored local kid walks by with a marker pen in his pocket.

  11. Dave says:

Does anyone really believe that the council painted over the tennis player ?

I have had experience of the council graffiti removal team , they use chemicals and high pressure jet sprays .

  12. Wendy says:

Dave? Is that you? Are you back?

  13. PiratesPatch says:

Can’t be the council goons…they are still learning to read and write…

    Painting comes next term!

  14. Nick says:

I saw someone from GLL (the Arches) painting over this…..

  15. scared of chives says:

just noticed – is that a broken bottle in her hand – or has someone already noticed that?
