Happy Hour

Congratulations to the Tolly and the Old Brewery on their prizes in the FancyAPint dot com 2010 awards. The Richard I was a runner-up in the Reviewers’ section and the Old Brewery won  Best New Pub (and though it can’t have had much competition, since more pubs are closing than opening these days, I’m confident it would have beaten off all comers however big the field.)

Cheers to you both!

Hooray! Great pubs, especially the Brewery. I am missing their Hospital Porter though, hope it comes back soon.

    Good old Tolly.

I note that Ye Olde Mitre in Farringdon/Holborn won the overall visitors’ award this year. It’s a great pub – one of London’s best and a little hard to find.

Queen Elizabeth 1 is supposed to have danced around the preserved tree that’s in the wall of the pub – a bit like wot she did around the fallen oak in Greenwich Park – or was it just sitting in its shade?
