Step Ahead of Plans Afoot
Richard’s alerted me to a handy little tool called Planning Alerts, which does exactly what you might expect it to – lets you know about all the planning applications that arrive on the Council’s doormat. Neither of us is sure if it will be useful yet – so far all I’ve had isĀ a mountain of requests to lop branches off trees in back gardensĀ around Westcombe Park but hey – might be worth persevering with just for the juicy stuff someone might try to sneak through without anyone noticing…

I’ve been on it for a long time and the tree branches is all it comes up with – like a lot of MySociety’s wonderful websites, they don’t seem to fit well with Greenwich Council’s systems (FixMyStreet has the same problem).
I suspected as much. I guess it must work in some areas – just not Greenwich Council’s…

Greenwich council website recommends planningfinder as an alternative. One hopes (but doubts) that if they’re recommending it should work with their systems?
You can search applications by ward, street, postcode, or application week here:
