White Winter Greenwich Hymnal

I've been itching to share this this wonderful, wintry compilation made by what is probably our youngest regular Phantomite, fifteen year-old Seamus, but I've been holding out for the magic of Christmas Eve. It follows on from his other fabulous compilation back in November.

Seamus is hoping that anyone who contributed snow pics to the blog earlier this year won't mind that he's included one or two of them here - I for one, think it's brilliant and watched it about 6 times just the morning he sent it to me - I have a sneaking suspicion you'll do the same - once just isn't enough.

I've been told that some people can't see the image. I've dickered with it, and it should work now, but if you're having trouble find it on YouTube here.

The soundtrack, by the way, is the enchanting White Winter Hymnal by the Fleet Foxes, which has been my number one winter listen this year. In fact I love it so much, I've also included the original stop-motion video by Sean Pecknold, that's also just pure magic...

Merry Christmas Eve, Phantom friends...

Well, some of the pictures are mine, and I'm delighted that Seamus has liked them enough to include them. I, in turn, hope eh won't mind if I put this compilation on my Facebook page, so that my friends all around the world (well, selected parts of it anyway) can see how beautiful Greenwich is in the snow.
Top one Seamus!

By the way, off topic, I know, but today's post on the excellent "Shut Up About Barclay Perkins" beer blog, gives details of a special Christmas Ale, brewed many years ago, by what was Greenwich's very own Brewery, Lovibond's.
Lovibond's seem to have been a really quality-driven concern, and it's a tragedy that, though the Brewery building is still there and in use, they no longer brew here in the heart of Greenwich.
Still, at least Greenwich still has a Brewery, which is one more than most places these days..

Merry Christmas everyone, we are lucky to live in this lovely place - I am looking forward to the next couple of days hanging out with family and neighbours, and the robin that's been hopping around on our garden fence).

(Ha, and thanks Rod, I stocked up on Union at Theatre of Wine just an hour ago...)

Great stuff Seamus and I'm flattered that you used a couple of my photos.

Also love the music, first time I've heard it and it will certainly go onto my Christmas music list.

Merry Christmas to all Phantomites.
