Book Club
Kirstie has been looking for a book group to join, and since she hasn't found one (other than Waterstone's) she's decided to have a go at setting one up herself. She says:
"I still don't know Greenwich that well, so am going to hold the first one at Starbucks on Thursday 6th August, from 6.30pm - 8pm. If it works, then I'll do another one a month later and am open to suggestions for locations / dates / times etc.
As for the actual book - I am currently reading The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo so thought that would be a good one to start with."
If you fancy joining Kirstie, get in touch with her by emailing me - I'll forward replies on to her...

I do not want to join the book club, but I want to use this comment to ask how to e-mail the phantom. I have been wondering for quite some time, seeing all these questions in 'ask the phantom'. I assumed those questions came from friends who knew the e-mail address, but in this post, it seems like everyone should be able to e-mail you.
There are 2 links on the right under ''the phantom is listening'' - one for gossip and one for asking a question : ask@thegreenwichphantom.co.uk
Hey Kate - maybe you read the blog on an RSS feed, which doesn't have the side bars?
There are two links down the right hand side of the blog - just click on them and you'll have my ear...
There is already a greenwich book club which meets on a Tuesday night once a month - I can't imagine how i found out about it but they have a facebook page
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is an excellent book. Emotionally gruelling, though.
Hi! I have been thinking of joining some kind of local club in the hope of meeting some nice new people, and a book club is perfect because I love reading.
Kirstie, are you still holding the August 6 meeting or are you joining the already existing club?
Dextar - if you send me an email I'll pass it onto Kirstie and you can make arrangements.
I would love to come along as I love Dragon Tattoo and it's sequel (The Girl Who Played with Fire). Both really entertaining reads with plenty to say, plus the real-life story behind it's publication is very sad too : Author died surprisingly young before he saw the success of his three books. But sorry, will be away but good luck and hope all enjoy the books!
