A Blogger SOS

Guys - if any of you are Blogger users, can you tell me why when I put in HTML links to other sites, Blogger automatically adds its own site to the address, rendering it useless?

It's driving me (and the people who try to use the links) mad...

When you select the text and click the "Link" button, make sure that when you paste the address you want to link to it has the http:// bit at the beginning.

If you just paste www.google.com into the box it'll overwite the http:// that's already highlighted so the link will be broken - in this case you want to click your cursor anywhere in an empty bit of the box first to "un-highlight" it.

Hopefully that makes sense!

Thanks Simon - I've never used the link button - I always wrote it in as a string of HTML - probably a very inefficient method.

I shall try something now...

I was going to say similar - make sure you put in http:// at the beginning, or it 'll just come out like "blogger.com/yourlink.com/" or similar.

Using the link button is infinitely easier.

Also, I've found with my Mac, if I want to copy and paste text from somewhere else, it won't work on Safari, but it will on Firefox. (This is just a Blogger tip if you happen to be a Mac user... But only the Phantom knows what platform you use).
