Blime!!!! I cant beleive I missed it, what time did they go over? I also missed Nick and Carla the other day, my house guests practically bumped into them coming off the Thames Clipper!
Midday, I believe?
A date for your diary this weekend - though how close you'll be able to get to it is anyone's guess - is the arrival of the Olympic Torch at the Dome. Phantom Top Tip: Don't wear orange.
Damm.. Ive just bought an Orange Suit...why shouldnt I wear it?
That's the spirit. Why shouldn't you indeed. Just make sure you also chant "Down with the Chinese Government!" and "Up the Dalai Lama!"
Actually I just accidentally spelled that wrong, getting 'Dali Llama' - which is a wonderful image...
Perhaps if I dye my pet Llama orange to match my suit I could make a surreal Art Protest.
As the flame is arriving at the O2 by river from Canary Wharf at about 18.00, I doubt anyone will get close to it. I'm surprised not to hear what's happening to it once it gets here. Any news on a 'Party/Reception'? I expect some Chinese Official will put it back in it's case and whisk it over to City Airport for it's next leg. Although, having heard that it's coming in through Heathrow, I hope they don't lose it in the Baggage Mountain....now that would be funny!!!???
Now I come to think of it, the deafening noise that flew over my work yesterday (stopping proceedings) must have been this lot. It seems that not even courts of law are immune to RAF celebrations!
Forgot to say...... they flew over at 13.00. They formed up just over City Airport then followed a straight line over the Thames from The O2, Canary Wharf, Tower Bridge until they got to The London Eye then north to Hendon for last nights Big Bash.........
I'm really sorry I missed the flyover. Were the Red Arrows part of it?
Saw the very disturbing Dispatches programme about Chinese subjugation of the Tibetan people earlier this week and it provided a very timely update.
Although I'm passionate about sport and the Olympics I will try to get along to O2 to protest on Sunday. Sorry (although actually, come to think of it, I'm not), politics and sport are interlinked and the Chinese need to be reminded that the world is watching them- despite their efforts to control media access.
Gwladys - you're back!
I saw it from the traffic jam in Blackwall Lane
