The Iron Man

At last!

Lloyd Scott AKA The Iron Giant, reached The Cutty Sark - and Simon managed to snap him and his bucket-followers. I tried to catch up with the robot-road-runner but the traffic's backed up so far (presumably behind him) by now that I'm afraid the flaky old Phantom gave up.

He'll be well on his way to Deptford by now...

I've spent the morning calculating that if Lloyd listened to Black Sabbath's 'Iron man' exclusively during the time it took him to finish - he would have heard it about 260 times.

Good use of your morning, SoC - better than me anyway.

But what if - for the sake of variety - he alternated between 'Iron Man' and the 'Iron Giant Soundtrack', running time 52:40?

I wish I had seen him in Greenwich. From these pics, he's looks very wobbly - his Clinton-esque handlers look like they're terrified he's going to fall over. Has he? If he does, can he get back up again?

Impressive calculations indeed.

I absolutely love the soundtrack to the Iron Giant. I even bought it. Funky, edgy stuff, some of it. Did you know "Rocket in my Pocket" was banned when it was first released?

I don't know if he has fallen over yet but they spent a good couple of minutes planning his descent down the ramp opposite the Gipsy Moth. I'm not sure what they'll do if they come across anything steeper.

Anyone know who the 'runner' I saw just approaching Tower Bridge at half five this evening might have been?

Cowboy hat, marigolds, sidling sideways in very slow motion. I assumed it was Lloyd at first, but clearly there are several loons out there.

He was not far off Island Gardens when I passed him at about 6pm this evening (Tues). That puts him well on two years ago when as George & The Dragon he was only there on the Thurs morning after the Marathon.
