Free Guided Walk

Franklin has sent me the details of a very curious-looking walk about undergound Greenwich on Sunday, which I'll pop on the Parish News page (don't forget to keep looking there - I do occasionally put local things in it) - I'm writing about it here as it's very short notice. Look out also for the Friends of East Greenwich Pleasance's Easter fun activities.

Your Phantom is gutted - I'm going a-visiting-relatives this weekend and will miss it all - sometimes it just has to happen. Enjoy yourselves whatever Easter-y stuff you end up doing...

dazza , on the right hand side of the Phantoms home page undeneath the thing about who the Phantom is ,is a "Site Map" the third item "Parish News" is there, click on that and , da da,. Hope that helps. A bit like Simon and the Phantom I also have been seconded for social duties and am unable to attend, it sounds like a facinating romp round town!

Thanks Benedict. Found it now.....
I wish I could walk those sorts of distance to go along, but alas, 'age has wearied the youthful frame' and all that.
Anyone going along?

A very interesting walk indeed, marred only by the cold wind which took the guide's wise words away. I was surprised how many folk showed up bearing in mind how dreadful the weather was ~ I'd like to do it again in rather warmer, less blustery conditions.

It would also be fun if we could actually gain access to some of the underground places mentioned (we only had access to a disused railway line and sadly no one had a torch!)

The guide's technique and talk maybe need a little tweaking, but I'm sure practice will make perfect and this could be a welcome addition to the many and varied guided walks available in the borough.
