Joshua Beasley

I've just met a bunch of young lads in a car park, putting leaflets under windscreen wipers. Being the nosey Phantom I am, I had to know what they were doing, and when I found out it broke my heart.

Their friend Joshua Beasley has been missing since Christmas Eve, when he was leaving Greenwich Ice Rink - about 5.15pm. They have no idea where he is and it's totally out of character for him to disappear like this. So a whole bunch of them are pretty much wallpapering Greenwich, in the hope that anyone may have seen any glimpses of him. The least I can do is ask you lot for them.

He's about five foot ten, slim/medium build, with thick, black, 'slightly untidy' hair. Both his ears are pierced and he was wearing black. I know that just about describes every 17 year-old, but do have a think. He looks like this:

It's beyond extremely unlikely he'll be reading this - but if you are, Joshua, your mates are really worried about you - please give them a call.

It's ever so slightly less unlikely that someone reading this has seen him - if you have, give Lewisham Police a call - 020 8297 1212.

I haven't seen such worried-looking seventeen year olds for a long, long time.

Let's just hope that this is a case of youthful forgetfulness and he forgot to tell his parents that he was going to be staying with friends. A missing person is bad thing at any time of year but at Christmas it seems to be more tragic.
My thoughts are with Joshua's Family and friends.

I think that it was my son and his friends that you saw as I drove them to Greenwich on Saturday to see if we could help find him/publicise his case so thanks for noticing and taking the time to post this story.

He is still missing unfortunately so please anyone out there who saw him on Christmas Eve in Greenwich please come forward & let someone know.

Could it be that Joshua was near James Wolfe Primary School in Randall Place - just a stones' throw from Creek Road (where the other school is)? Has St. Alfeges Park been searched? Supposing he hit his head when he fell in the ice-rink and has lost his memory??? I'm sure the police are working along these lines but HE MUST BE SOMEWHERE!!!!! My thoughts and prayers are with Josh and his family.

Apparently his mates are out every night looking for him. I'm sure theyve checked the graveyard. Whenever I see all that fuss about Madelaine McCann I can't help thinking of all the hundreds of kids who go missing every year. He could do with a spot more publicity.

I'm glad his friends are still searching. I live and shop locally and keep my eyes open for any young men looking lost and forlorn. Yes, he needs more publicity; we must all keep him in our minds - he's got to be somewhere. Are his friends still trying to phone and text him???

I'm Josh's mum Ruth and would like to thank you for your kindness and support. The last postive sighting of Josh is sat at the bus stop at the Greenwich centre end of Romney Road, Old Naval College side at 5.15pm on Xmas Eve. At this stage we don't think he got on to a bus. We know that he didn't go under the foot tunnel, up Croom's Hill, or get on at the DLR or Greenwich station. His phone went off network at 5.30pm that evening and has not been reactivated since.

We are working with the police to get as much publicity as possible but ultimately it's not our decision whether it appears or not.

We'd like to thank everyone who's keeping the conversation going about Josh - by going out and putting up posters, spreading the word etc. This is the best thing we can do for him, as there must be someone out there who has seen him but may not have realised it yet or knows something about his whereabouts.

Thanks again for your support and kindness and let's keep people aware of what's happened and hopefully we will find him.

Message for Ruth: my ex works for the DePaul Trust to whom you sent some leaflets for distriubution so I'm popping them into any shops etc. that don't already have one.

Our thoughts and prayers are very much with you and I really have to admire the response of Josh's school colleagues that are doing so much to keep this issue alive.

Let's keep up the hope!

I was wondering whether anyone had asked at a service at St Alfege's? I dont normally remember anything about where I am at a particular time - but at 5.15 on Christmas Eve I was at the Christingle service at St ALfege's which finished just before 6pm. As the church was packed there would have been alot of people from the church spreading outwards from the church at this time - asomeone might remember something. Our way home lay up Point Hill past Point Park and I dont remember seeing anyone on the hill.

Why can't the police use dogs to start searching from where Josh was last seen (by the bus stop) after taking on his scent from some of his clothes? This probably seems like a silly question but I don't feel this is getting enough publicity and time is going on. I can imagine how Josh's parents feel because I lost contact with my son for about six days once and that was bad enough so my thoughts are with them. I hope they manage to keep strong - don't give up hope.

I don't entirely know Josh, but I do attend the same sixth form as him, and I just want his family to know that everyone at Thomas tallis is praying for your family.
I didn't know him personally, a I have already said, but I do feel like something is missing. TT is a community, as much as people try to say it's not. When something - no matter how small - goes missing, everyone notices. He will be dearly missed. Amen...

Hi, everybody. I'm an Italian girl. Last April I went to London and I was in Greenwich. I was looking at the Thames river when I came across all the words written on a wall about Josh. I was really struck and once in Italy I looked for him on the net hoping to find information about him. I'm really sorry for what happened to him. I hope he will rest in peace and hope his family will be fine even if I believe it's very hard living after such an event.I didn't meet you Josh but I hope you will be happy wherever you are... N

Hey Anon - yes - it seems an awful lot of people - many of whom didn't even know Josh - were touched by his passing. May he rest in peace.
