Woolwich Road Post Office
Can this be true?
I'm surprised - they've only just done it up and whenever I go in there it seems to be busy. In fact I've queued for some time in there before now, especially before the refurb. What's gone wrong? Where have all the customers gone? That will leave a significant chunk of East Greenwich without a Post Office at all - the nearest ones being some way up Trafalgar Road to the West, Blackheath Standard to the South, Canary Wharf to the North and, correct me if I'm wrong - Charlton to the East.
What has gone so very wrong? Is everyone using alternative delivery firms? I'm certainly not. Or did the people who took over the shop have unrealistic hopes of riches beyond the dreams of avarice?
More news on this one, please, folks...

Is this the one by The Forum or the one off Annandale? If the latter, I was hugely disapointed with the refurb - it seemed a lot of money spent on getting practically the same thing. That weird vestibule was supposed to access a downstairs internet cafe, but they couldn't get planning or it was too expensive. They told me, but I can't remember.
I guess I take it personally since it is my dream location for my fantasy shop - the stationery one. Being attached to a post office would cover me in lean stationery times. Ah.. Not that I'm doing anything about this dream, mind you. It's just nice to think of zero commute and doing something one truly loves.
Carpe Diem, Andrekabu...
That'll be "8 Woolwich Road", then, one of my two old local post offices.
The other one (by Westcombe Park station) shut a few years back.

I use this one a lot - yes it was very busy until recently - now - even on a Thursday morning strangely desolate...
Where are people collecting their pensions? - Where isJonnyB?

I'm not sure what's happened. I always had to queue, but suddenly there's no one in there when I go to post a parcel...
Post office and stationery shop all in one would be great!
They could start by selling some decent birthday cards!
