Stabbing?

Lorna has a worrying question:

"I'm really concerned about the apparent stabbing that happened in the park behind St Alfege's last week. I've been told that it was two school kids, but I can't find anything in the news about it. The police have put notes through the door asking if anyone saw anything and are referring to it as a "serious assault". I walk through this park every day on my way to and from work and am now concerned about how safe it is..."

The Phantom Replies:

I haven't heard anything about it. It's amazing what goes on that we never hear or read about - I once witnessed a major police stakeout and it didn't even warrant a couple of inches in the News Shopper. Anyone got any insider info?

Not heard of this, and on a similar nasty note a friend who lives in Westcombe Park was mugged recently by a guy who drove up in a jeep and targeted her on her doorstep - aparently he attacked several women on the same night. So watch out for jeeps and have your front-door keys at the ready.

Ick! Why don't we hear about this kind of thing? Presumably the creep is still at large?

There was a stabbing but we know very little about it, which is worrying as we live on Alfege passage and walk through the park every day. We had a note through our door from the police asking for witnesses, but that is it. Apparently it was at 5 in the afternoon, so broad daylight. There was police tape up when we came home at about 7pm. Very worrying.
