More Greenwich Card

As I was writing the entry below, Methers sent me a link to Last Bus Home where he's had much the same reaction to the Greenwich Card as me. Do let me know if you're one of the 500 luck recipients. Sadly I won't be one of them. I've just spent the last 2 hours trying to book regular tickets (trying to co-ordinate with parents being the main problem, as usual; getting up off the floor after all the extra fees on top of the extortionate prices being the other...

Well, I got my half-price tickets. But it became obvious why they wanted to gather a crowd of people together all wanting to buy tickets at the same time - there were at least two pro photographers present. Look out for pictures of Happy Greenwich People Buying Tickets For Tutankhamun Exhibition in the next edition of Greenwich Time

Pah, the Phantom beat me to the rude gestures idea. Personally, I think you should have suggested they drink Nescafe.

Someting similar happened to me years ago when hundreds of us had been brought, under "false" pretences to queue up just for a cheap publicity stunt. A TV reporter stuck a microphone under my nose and asked me what I thought. The best way to make sure I never made it to the screens was to swear every other word. It seemed to work just fine...
