Property Ladder
650 grand! Does anyone know if they've sold it yet? Or are they holding out for a million? What a pair of greedy gits. Whatever happened to good old fashioned doing up a property because you actually want to live in it?
I'm most annoyed at having missed it, but More 4 seem to be repeating the series on Thursday nights, starting last night from Episode 1. Greenwich is Episode 8, so I make that a date for the 19th July, folks, so anyone like me who happened to be out can see the neighbours we narrowly avoided...
(BTW I assume they called it "North" Greenwich so it seemed like it was close to the tube station.)

I didn't see the programme but was that the house in Combedale road for £650,000?
I remember seeing on an estate agent's website and thinking how stupidly overpriced it was!
Is this it http://www.findaproperty.com/displayprop.aspx?edid=00&salerent=0&pid=698992&agentid=02929
If so they've reduced the price LOL.

I caught bits of the programme. Greed is a very unappealing habit. Their punishment came swiftly with a reduced listing price on the house :-)
It is not worth the money
I'm so annoyed I missed it- but I will try to catch the repeat, just so I can confirm to myself that the world's gone mad. Maybe it's a nice house - but judging from the clips of C4 what it has most going for it is the area. Encouraging for us - but let's face it. It's all a paper fortune. If we were to sell up today we'd still have to find somewhere to live and unless we left Greenwich (unthinkable!) or downsized we'd be the ones paying these ridiculous prices to greedy developers. And as for anyone hoping to buy somewhere who isn't already a millionaire - forget it.
Tut.
Phenomenally stupid as they received an immediate offer for £575,000 and turned their noses up at it. They could have bought and sold two times since then had they not let their wits get carried away.
I saw a 3 bed on Combedale for sale at James Johnston today for £495,000. Still several leagues out of where we were when we moved to the area, but at least it resembles sense.
I am looking forward to seeing these two even more - with the kind of ghoulish enjoyment of one who has had a very narrow escape - can you imagine living next door to people like that? I have fab neighbours and thank heavens for it every day.
You might be able to see a repeat of the programme on 4oD ("Four on demand") on the Channel 4 website if all else fails.
Yes, I guess I could. But the idea of paying to see these two peacocks show off just feels wrong, somehow, however cheap. I think I'll wait, but thanks for the tip. ;-)
