The Junk Shop
There are dusty cases full of god-knows-what - handles off things, bits of odd china, bric-a-brac, geological specimens and stuffed things. On the stairs a box full of stoppers from cut-glass decanters jostles with several panels from the interior of someone's house. Panels of what, I have no idea. Suspended from the ceiling are a number of rickety-looking chairs and shelves full of interesting tat line the walls - though it's difficult to actually reach them for the stacks of odd furniture in the way. There are plenty of dusty old volumes and some real curiosities - including what I can only surmise to be a Victorian crutch - presumably owned by a Greenwich Pensioner...
I have no idea of pricing - there are none on display and I've never actually found anything I've wanted to enquire about. I'd welcome any comments from anyone who's actually bought something.

I've bought loads there - it sometimes takes perseverence to find someone who works there, and pricing is often made up on the spot, but I love it.
Yes, I've picked up some interesting stuff too - an old pine wardrobe and a rather grandiose picture frame I used for our wedding table plan. It's lovely to be able to just browse without any pressure, though clumsy rucksacks on backs are frowned upon (and rightly so). Very friendly, very laid back owners. I hope it stays in situ...
I often buy bits and bobs there, silver tea spoons with cherubs, iron garden chairs, coal bucket, all those things you can't live without. If they dont know the price they ring someone up to get it. The person they call must have a fantastic memory and knowledge of the "product range" but you never get to know who it is or see them........humm...Phantom like. I do have my eye on a petrified cat in the window, now ; can I live without it
Eveything has a price on it, its just sometimes it falls off.....then we make it up as we go along.......
We are open 7 days a week from 10am until 6pm, sometimes longer if we are imbibing....
Come and have a look, you never know what you may find amongst the dust......oh, and mind the step.....
